Job Overview
As a Logistics Operations Specialist , you will be responsible for sourcing and securing carrier capacity, negotiating competitive rates, and managing shipments from booking through delivery. Your ability to develop strong carrier relationships and maintain real-time tracking and tracing will be crucial in ensuring operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Source and secure carrier capacity by building relationships with reliable trucking partners.
Negotiate competitive rates while ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
Track and trace all active shipments, providing real-time updates and proactively addressing potential delays.
Communicate with carriers and account managers to ensure on-time performance and problem resolution.
Maintain carrier compliance by verifying insurance, safety records, and performance history.
Leverage load boards and carrier networks to match freight with available capacity efficiently.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless operations and meet service level expectations.
Analyze carrier performance data to identify opportunities for improved service and stronger partnerships.
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to build lasting relationships.
Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or similar logistics software is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations and solve problems on the fly.
