How You’ll Make An Impact
The Product Manager leads the growth of our owned digital products, including our app and website. Reporting to the Chief Audience Officer, you will be responsible for driving the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of our digital platforms to deliver exceptional user experiences, enhance engagement, and contribute to the organization’s overall digital strategy.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including content, engineering, design, marketing, tech, and membership, to streamline workflows and ensure the product roadmap aligns with the company’s strategic goals. Your focus will be on enhancing product features, scaling growth, and maximizing the potential of both our app and website, ensuring they meet the needs of our evolving audiences.
This role is pivotal in guiding the transition from the current app to the launch of KCRW’s reimagined app in 2025, ensuring continuity and innovation.

Here’s What You’ll Do
Product Strategy & Vision : Define and execute the product strategy for our digital products (app and website), with a focus on growth, user engagement, and monetization opportunities, including member acquisition and retention.
Ensure Operational Excellence : Oversee the app and website’s daily operations, maintaining stability, high performance, and consistent uptime.
Roadmap Management : Develop and manage the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and key initiatives. Regularly update and communicate roadmaps to stakeholders. Track milestones and anticipate roadblocks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with other leaders to translate user needs and business goals into actionable product features and improvements that are cohesive across the overall KCRW experience.
User Experience : Advocate for the user experience, ensuring product decisions are grounded in user research, data analysis, and usability testing.
Growth & Engagement : Drive initiatives to grow user acquisition, engagement, and retention across digital platforms. Utilize A / B testing, data-driven insights, and performance metrics to optimize digital products.
Market & Competitive Research : Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to inform product decisions and identify growth opportunities.
Stakeholder Communication : Serve as the key point of contact for stakeholders on product progress, challenges, and wins. Provide regular updates on product performance and KPIs.
Analytics & Reporting : Leverage data analytics tools to track product performance, user behavior, and conversion metrics. Use data to make informed decisions and ensure products are meeting their goals.
Streamline Processes : Develop, document, and refine workflows to support product features, content updates, and community engagement tools.
Vendor & Budget Management : Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee budgets for app-related services and technology.
Staff Training : Lead onboarding and training efforts for staff.
Here’s What You’ll Bring
8 years of experience in product management, with a focus on apps or digital products, preferably in a media environment.
Proven track record of driving growth and optimization of digital products, ideally subscription products.
Strong communication and organizational skills that allow you to clearly define strategy, get buy-in from leadership and motivate cross-functional teams to see it through successfully.
A track record of working effectively with developers, marketing, design, and content teams.
Strong understanding of digital product development lifecycle and methodologies (agile / scrum)
Skilled in project management tools (e.g., Monday.com), content management systems (e.g., Contentful), CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
Data driven mindset with the ability to balance user needs with business goals.
Great at prioritizing and have strong instincts when it comes to what matters.
Strong curiosity for future technologies and its effect on audience behavior.
Familiarity with the media industry and its digital landscape is a plus.
