Job Summary
Provides general instruction in applicable areas of construction technology such as Surveying and Foundations, Concrete Formwork, Light Frame Construction, Blueprint Reading, and Finish Carpentry. Must be able to adapt to student learning needs in the classroom and carpentry lab setting.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities include teaching lecture courses, conducting carpentry lab classes, being involved in curriculum changes, and meeting industry standards. Provide Construction Technology instruction for online, in-person and carpentry lab settings. Demonstrate current knowledge required by curriculum for construction technology applications and techniques. Work collaboratively with faculty & staff to provide education, evaluation & supervision to students. Other responsibilities include curriculum development, committee assignments, student advising, community service and professional development activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of an Associate in Applied Science degree in a construction related field and related work experience. Must have working experience and knowledge of proper ceiling and roof layout procedures including calculating, cutting and assembly of both common rafters and hip rafters; exterior and interior finish carpentry including installation of siding and cornices, windows, doors, interior surfaces and moldings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years of work in carpentry field .
