Job Description
The Incoming Quality Inspector performs inspection of all incoming components and labels to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. This involves using certified test equipment/tools and ANSI/ASQC inspection standards to verify the quality of materials received.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma/GED with proficiency in math and a minimum of two years' experience in quality inspection or related fields. College courses are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs inspection of all incoming components using customer standards, certified test equipment/tools, and ANSI/ASQC inspection standards.
- Receives incoming labels into SAP and performs inspection of labels using customer standards and scanning software.
- Records and scans inspection results in appropriate database.
- Completes form, fit and function testing on new components.
- Maintains customer component inspection standards.
- Creates KDC Label Standards used to ensure customer and regulatory compliance in the Label room and Production Department.
- Communicates quality alerts to management and Quality Inspectors.
- Places any components or labels not meeting the quality standards on hold for further quality review.
- Navigates through SAP to investigate and troubleshoot quality issues and to contain non-conforming components and labels.
- Performs AQL inspections on potential out-of-spec components and labels, as required.
- Communicates with management and/or vendors/suppliers on quality issues.
