Job Title: Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator
Location: Annapolis, MD - Hybrid
Client: State of MD
Duration: 5 years
Mode of Interview: In-person
- Work Type: Hybrid 2 days remote / 3 days onsite in Annapolis, MD (candidate must be able to report onsite within 24-hoursof notification).
- Work Hours: 8:00am 4:30pm EDT (M-Fri)
- SCOPE OF WORK
a. Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
b. Performing system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.
c. Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
d. Implementing automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks.
e. Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (ldM), and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.
f. Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.
g. Maintaining and optimizing storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
h. Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based deployments.
1. Maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
J. Participating in on-call support and incident resolution activities as required.
k. Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount points.
l. Configuring Chron jobs for both systems and applications.
D. RESOURCE(S) SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & CAPABILITIES
a. Experience with:
(1) Working in a complex networked system environment with strong networking.
(2) Administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
(3) Administering systems including, but not limited to, the applications below: Oracle WebLogic Servers

(1) Work in a team environment.
(2) Communicate effectively with internal and external personnel.

(6) Troubleshoot at the Operating System (OS), database, and application levels.

- REQUIRED:Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator
- Identify within your candidate s resume proof of any preferred qualifications(as applicable)
- Ten (10) or more years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
- Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.
