Position Overview:
The Production Sanitation Lead is responsible for overseeing the sanitation and cleanliness of the production area, ensuring that all areas comply with health and safety standards and regulatory requirements. This includes maintaining cleanliness in storage areas, equipment, and restrooms, and supervising a team of sanitation workers to ensure efficient operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail, while adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sanitation Oversight: Lead and supervise a team responsible for cleaning and sanitizing warehouse areas, including floors, shelves, loading docks, bathrooms, and equipment.
- Cleaning Procedures: Implement and maintain cleaning protocols that meet health, safety, and regulatory standards, ensuring all areas are regularly cleaned and disinfected.
- Inventory Management: Ensure proper inventory of sanitation supplies, including cleaning agents, chemicals, and tools. Place orders as needed to maintain stock levels.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all sanitation activities are performed in compliance with OSHA, local health department guidelines, and company policies regarding safety and sanitation.
- Quality Control: Inspect and monitor cleanliness and sanitation efforts in the warehouse and make improvements as necessary. Ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards and identify potential areas for improvement.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, sanitation tasks, and any incidents related to cleaning activities. Prepare reports for management as required.
- Emergency Response: Respond to urgent sanitation needs, including spills or contamination issues, by initiating immediate cleaning protocols.
- Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse management and other departments to ensure cleanliness aligns with operational needs.
Essential Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years in a sanitation or custodial leadership role, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment, including proper handling and disposal procedures.
- Ability to develop and implement sanitation protocols and schedules.
- Strong communication skills to lead teams and interact with various departments.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulations related to sanitation and warehouse operations.
- Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including handling cleaning equipment and working in potentially dusty, wet conditions, and cold conditions.
- Ability to move or lift sanitation equipment, including heavy-duty mops, vacuums, and trash containers.
- Problem Solving: Strong ability to identify sanitation issues and implement solutions promptly.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure that cleanliness standards are consistently met.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Certification in sanitation, cleaning, or safety (e.g., HAZMAT, OSHA) is a plus.
- Bilingual: Ability to speak and understand both English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a refrigerated warehouse environment where employees may be exposed to loud noises, fluctuating temperatures, and physical demands. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required in accordance with safety guidelines.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
