Under general supervision, performs responsible clerical work in the Library involving staff support and customer service; monitor the computer lab in the absence of the Technology Learning Center (TLC) Coordinator; work varies; individual judgment is required within generally prescribed standards and procedures.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Perform the full range of circulation desk functions using an automated circulation system; provide basic computer operation assistance to library patrons; maintain a safe and quiet environment in the TLC for all patrons and staff, assure accurate library shelving of books and periodicals by shelf reading and reshelving, performs periodicals maintenance, carries out interlibrary loan tasks, processes overdue books, collects, and records fines; repairs damaged books or prepares them for extensive mending; handle routine inquiries and concerns; answer telephones and provides information, referrals, or transfers calls; assists with library program preparation and implementation and performs other duties as assigned.SUPERVISION - RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS: None.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, officials and the public.
