Job Summary
Performs day to day yard operations of recycling yard to include loading and unloading of materials, customer service, and maintenance. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Reliable attendance is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Direct incoming loads of construction material removals to the correct unload location
Load customers with the correct amount and type of crushed materials
Ensure outgoing loads of crushed material are accurately recorded for customers and for billing purposes.
Receives customer cash payments and submits to office for processing.
Basic equipment maintenance.
Maintains the recycling yard, scale house, and tool shed in a clean and orderly manner.
Frequenlty lifts/moves up to 100 pounds.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent; and
- previous experience in a construction &/or construction products related field; or
- an equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Loader certification preferred. If none, must be capable to completing requirements of the program and passing the test through the company.
Qualifications:
- Work schedule is full-time March through the end of November, with the possibility of changing depending on weather and part time/layoff over the winter.
- Must have previous experience operating construction machinery or equipment--forklift, pallet loaders, lift truck and a front-end loader.
- Ability to read and comprehend delivery and load tickets.
- Able to understand basic numbers and math to count loads, determine load size, and process cash sales’ payments.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to distinguish between safe and unsafe conditions in the yard and in the warehouse and maintain a clean and safe yard and warehouse environment.
- Must be able to take direction from others and work well in a team environment.
- Must have good customer service skills.
