This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Program Director oversees the development and operations of various programs and designs practices, processes, and procedures for strong program and project management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA. Measures progress against strategic goals and ensures continuous improvement.
2. Develops, implements and manages strategic partnerships.
3. Assures and documents compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
4. Develops and controls department budgets related to the position so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives.
5. Uses data to analyze financial trends and forecast future financial progress for the organization.
6. Recruits, Hires, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Organizes people and activities for efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Ensures high quality member-focused programs through innovative program development, focused members, and the community. Ensure programming promotes core values, follows process and procedure, and ensures long term impact on the strategic direction of the organization.
8. Determines, tracks, evaluates, and communicates department performance metrics (business and impact)
9. Promotes department growth and development through program enhancements, participation growth, new programs, and partnerships
10. Rewards and recognizes new and relevant ideas and approaches even if not successful.
11. Leads organizational initiatives and stretch goal assignments
12. Acts as part of the leadership team, provides organizational oversight in partnership with the CEO
13. Performs all other duties as assigned.
FOCUS AREA SPECIFICS
1. Provides direct oversight to the following areas, ensuring safety, quality, and growth: School Age, Schools Day Out, Teens, and Summer Camp Programs.
2. Manages, directs and coordinates on and off-site school-age programs (Before and After School, Schools
Day Out, Summer Camp). Ensures high-quality programs and implements program enhancements and initiative.
3. Recruits, hires, develops, and manages staff in each of the assigned program areas.
4. Meets all local, state, and national requirements and maintains proper records and files at all times.
5. Expands and develops programming to meet the growing community need in School Age programs by increasing access to safe, quality, affordable school age programming
6. Leads and influences peers in the YMCA to enhance the experience in on and off-site school age School Age programs through the connection to other YMCA Youth and Family Programs, including securing on and off site facilities
7. Develops Y members and staff to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for teens focused on social emotional learning and development.
8. Collaborates with community partners, businesses, university, health programs, and other School Age programs providers to foster strong relationships and integrated partnerships resulting in long-term sustainability and quality enhancements community wide.
9. Ensures fiscal growth. Develops and manages budgets for Before and After School, Summer Camp, and Schools Day Out
10. Develops and implements teen impact structure that provides an environment, programming, and mentoring that fosters the integration of core values, manages behaviors, and supports academic success and long term character and program development.
11. Represents the Y at community and YMCA events, demonstrating and communicating the Y’s mission and values
12. Support the Child Care Director as the Kearney Family YMCA School Age Protection Guardian, working with YUSA and Praesidium (along with other partners) to ensure child safety throughout the YMCA
13. Works closely with School Age programs partners to ensure YMCA maintains and exceeds standards and is an active part of the community’s efforts to expand access to safe and quality programs.
14. Writes grants, accesses available funding, and maintains reporting requirements to ensure that programs at the YMCA can stay affordable to all families

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferred.
- Four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
- Ability to fulfill and manage state licensing and regulatory requirements
- Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development, and fundraising
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations
- Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
- YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification preferred
