What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kearney Strategic Operations Global Alliances Manager position at Kearney?
As a member of Kearney's Corporate Development team, the Alliance team plays a vital role in executing our strategy and delivering greater client value through innovative partnerships. In this position, you will be instrumental in supporting Kearney's growth strategy by fostering and managing strategic alliances, driving high visibility of alliances across the firm, developing and advising teams on best practices, and shaping commercial opportunities.
We are seeking an experienced candidate with relevant and recent strategy consulting and Alliance management experience, with a focus on Strategic Operations (Supply Chain), to help the firm achieve its inorganic ambitions. The candidate will support the end-to-end development and commercialization of Kearney’s ecosystem partners.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Global Alliances, the Strategic Operations Alliance Leader, and other CD team members in a collaborative, flat team set up. This position is highly visible across Kearney’s leadership teams.
Key responsibilities
Alliances performance management & governance
- Support the building of a mature alliance portfolio for the Strategic Operations Practice (SOP) (e.g. Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing & Logistics); working closely with the Alliance Leader and Consulting leaders from the practice
- Build relationships with the Business leaders for Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing and Logistics to understand their objectives and goals
- Manage the evaluation process, collaborate on identifying needs, screening and onboarding including agreements
- Manage the SOP Portfolio commercial tracking and performance to ensure consistent rigor and quality of performance tracking and report-outs to Kearney leadership
- Manage both opportunity calls between the practice and the Alliance as well as the pipeline calls
- Ensure the opportunities and commercials activities - such as wins, projects, other commercial activity, internal communications, marketing activities, and enablement - are tracked in the tools
- Manage Reporting to SOP leadership at the Global level, as well as the CD leadership, the Managing Partner Leadership Team (MPLT) and the Board.
- Manage Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for key alliances
Alliance Portfolio & Knowledge Management
- Manage the SOP Alliance Knowledge Management and GTM Assets, enabling availability and easy access to high quality assets to drive greater awareness of alliances and how to use them
- Develop, update and curate high quality SOP alliance assets on an ongoing basis
- Manage the Knowledge assets for priority alliances –alliance overviews, joint value props, case studies
Market activation and account planning
- SOP Alliance Awareness, marketing & enablement: drive high degree of awareness through compelling impact stories and repetition
Internal awareness & enablement
- Own internal communications plan and preparation for SOP
- Plan and execute a target cadence of internal awareness sessions (e.g. webinars) and partner engagements across SOP alliance portfolio
- Build enablement plans across the portfolio for SOP including:
- Coordination of trainings & certification programs (with learning team and the respective lead from the practice)
- Curation of enablement assets (e.g. self-pace learnings, etc..) and dissemination through various practice, learning and Alliance channels
- Collaborate with Alliance team members to contribute to and continually improve Alliance Management processes, tools and communications including:
- Metrics and reporting
- Internal communications and awareness
- Intranet portal – including Alliance database
- Knowledge management
- Preparation of updates and presentations
- Work closely with M&A team to identify potential Alliance candidates resulting from M&A searches

We want to hear from you if you are:
- 5 – 7 yrs overall experience, ideal candidate will have experience in both strategy consulting and managing partnerships in a strategy professional services domain OR experience managing partnerships for an industry leading Strategic Operations focused technology or services firm
- Experience in a highly visible and strategic management function within a top-tier consulting or technology firm a plus
- Proficiency in entire Microsoft 365 suite including collaboration applications Teams, Planner, SharePoint, etc.
- Self-driven and results-oriented with very strong organization skills and ability to prioritize in an ever changing/evolving landscape
- Outstanding energy and confidence, with strong executive presence and ability to influence and manage ‘360’ relationships
- Strong project management skills, able to collaborate, coordinate and drive outcomes across varied stakeholders
- Exceptional writing and presentation development skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Comfortable and confident working in a virtual and distributed team across global time zones and cultures, a must
- Open minded, mature and team-oriented
- University degree (MBA preferred but not required)
