Description
The Project Coordinator will be responsible to manage project execution, following project management principles and processes to assume overall project responsibility of assisting to run all projects from beginning to end while meeting strict project timelines and budget delivery to the customers satisfaction.
This role is critical to the organization and will prove pivotal in the continued growth of the Safeguard Industries product lines. This position requires a proactive, forward thinking and energetic person who is results oriented and capable of professional and detailed follow through.
Key Responsibilities
We measure impact by your successful ability to:
- Assist in management of all aspects of projects, including scheduling and completion of activities relating to payroll, timekeeping, labour coding, equipment coding, purchase-order coding, and safety reporting
- Follow project management process flow and work instructions to manage the job orders
- Co-ordinate cross functional activities with all related departments to meet and control the order delivery
- Manage communications, be single point of contact for the customer throughout the order management life cycle
- Plan/schedule job orders and coordinate installation team logistics to provide efficiency on every project
- Responsible to monitor and control costs while flagging/reporting any variance with the project budget
- Monitor, track, document and endorse installers weekly timesheet/expense on SG Jobber application and provide to accounting for payment
- Monitor, measure and communicate with the project stakeholders on the status and progress of every projectPrepare/report weekly and monthly installation hours, cost and resource margins
- Assist with preparing project safety documentation with the Installation Manager guidance
- Assist with sourcing vendors and on-site procurement of minimal project materials, as required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs (RFI, vendor/subcontractor, purchase, owner etc.), track responses and advise stakeholders
- Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Maintain quality service by following organization standards
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Assist in the management of contractor site meetings, RFIs, invoices and control document process
- Establish effective on-site communications and progress reporting with subtrades and clients
Requirements
Education, Experience and Skills
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a project coordinator in steel construction
- Experience in Construction Project Management; PMP certification is ideal but not mandatory
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications (e.g. structural steel drawings, architectural drawings, MEP drawings, etc.)
- Post-Secondary Degree or Technical Diploma
- Project accounting and cost control knowledge
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Project Management, Quality or Supply Chain Management Certifications, an asset
- Knowledge of Salesforce and Jobber applications, an asset
- Field experience will be considered an asset
- Previous safety and procurement experience will be an asset
