Description
Seeking an experienced Project Manager who is responsible for leading and directing the execution of fall protection solutions projects. They will lead the project from initiation to close, working with vendors and tracking inventory of equipment and materials, labor and cost. This person should be knowledgeable about regulations, permits and project management methodology. They should also work well with others, be highly organized and detail-oriented, meet deadlines and strive to stay within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine the project deliverables and specifications, including the project scope, necessary project resources, and estimated labor needed by collaborating with clients, engineers, and sales
- Calculate the cost estimate of all project tasks and accurately manage the project budget
- Plan and schedule the entire project including engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation timelines to make sure project deadlines are met
- Assist in acquisition of appropriate licenses and permits from the corresponding authorities and ensure construction is up to code
- Work with general contractors, critical subcontractors, and external vendors to negotiate profitable contracts
- Communicate the status of the project to key stakeholders by providing regular progress reports
- Put organizational systems into place to ensure tools, and equipment are well-maintained, and schedule maintenance if needed
- Must be organized and detail oriented; can create processes for the business work flows and teach them to the team, hold team accountable.
- Must be able to derive organization from chaos – ability to prioritize a large set of competing priorities/projects and drive these to completion
- Must want to own the improvements we will make to the business on the project execution side.

- Must have some hands on construction experience, i.e. General Contractor, Field, Superintendent, or Jr Superindendent,
- o General Contractor – field superintendent ( or Jr. Sup) experience
- o Steel: structural, reinforcing, architectural

- ·Ability to self-manage and operate with little direct daily oversight, make decisions independently based on experience and good judgement
- Excellent communicator with the ability to manage customer expectations, with angry customers at times and to solve problems.
- Demonstrable track record of taking a company/project process from a state of disorganization to a successful, process-driven sustainable organization is preferred
Requirements
Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related fields
- May consider experience in lieu of a degree
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in construction management
- OSHA 30 certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a bonus
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and entire building process, including building codes, blueprints, permits, construction equipment, material resources, construction processes, and project management principles
- Experience using construction or project management software preferred
- Strong communication skills, leadership skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and time-management skills
- A dynamic, entrepreneurial spirit but can be controlled and focused.
- Must be a doer, but also a delegator: can do things themselves, but in the future needs to build a team so must be able to build a team
- Must be coachable and a quick learner
