General Summary
The Cafe Attendant is responsible for preparing high-quality fresh juices and smoothies while delivering exceptional customer service to KEEN employees and guests. This role includes operating the point of sale (POS) system, managing cash transactions, and ensuring accurate daily reporting. The Cafe Attendant is also responsible for opening and closing the café, absorbing alternative styles of food & beverage services throughout KEEN HQ, maintaining beverage and market inventory, as well as upholding sanitation and hygiene standards.
Essential Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provides friendly and efficient customer service, accurately taking orders and making recommendations.
- Addresses customer inquiries and resolves complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Handles cash, credit, and mobile payments accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
- Maintains flexibility to adapt to various service styles, including onsite and off-site event catering, buffet services, meal tabs, and company social hours.
Beverage Preparation & Service
- Prepares and serves fresh juices, smoothies, and self-serve coffee according to company standards.
- Operates coffee machines, juicers, blenders, and other beverage equipment to ensure high-quality service.
- Restocks pre-packaged drinks, snacks, ingredients, cups, and other supplies as needed.
Operations & Maintenance
- Ensures all equipment, including coffee machines, juicers, and blenders, is properly maintained and reports maintenance needs to the manager. Complies with sanitation, personal hygiene, and health standards to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the work area, including countertops, equipment, and seating areas
Minimum Qualifications
- Oregon Food Handlers card required
- One (1) year experience in barista work, juicing, counter service delis, or similar customer-facing food service roles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of coffee brewing methods, beverage preparation, and general drink service.
- Knowledge of kitchen and food safety.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Flexible to work nights or weekends for special events, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, push and pull items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Base Salary: $18-$20 hourly
This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, and location.
