Child Care Associates are hired each year to support ratios at the Child Development Center when the college students (student employees) leave for the semester and the CDC remains in session.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Support the teaching team to implement best practices in developmentally appropriate curriculum. Model appropriate and nurturing child guidance that reflects the CDC values and educational philosophy. Maintain a clean, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment that reflects best practices and models excellence. (70%)
- Foster positive relationships with staff, children, and families. Engage with each family and maintain on-going communication with classroom families including daily communication, written communication, and co-planning and attending family events. (20%)
- Maintain health and safety standards, attend CDC staff meetings, meet with Director, follow and uphold all procedures and policies of the Child Development Center and Keene State College. Other duties as assigned. (10%)
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in early childhood education or related field.
- 18 hours in early childhood education.
- NH Prosolutions health and safety trainings.
- NH Prosolutions Pyramid Model 1-hour training.
- Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood one year experience with B-5-year-olds.
