SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
Oversees and directs departmental personnel, plant operations, maintenance, engineering support, safety, regulatory
compliance, distribution and warehousing under direction of the Shift Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the department.
Monitor operations for efficiency and safety, ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are met/followed.
Develops operational objectives to meet internal goals as well as expectations of customers.
Oversee production staff, including training of personnel.
Fully responsible for managing a department within a textile manufacturing facility.
Responsible for the departmental operations and formulate production direction and strategies.
Directing all aspects of the department in order to produce cost-effective, timely and high quality product in a safe, secure and sanitary working environment.
Managing development, implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems and other operating infrastructure used to realize operating goals and objectives.
Accountable for the work activities of 25-40 hourly personnel.
Plan, implement and monitor work flows, operation systems and processes in a sizeable factory operation
Monitor operation plan, productivity, quality and on time delivery of product.
Monitor the systems and procedures for efficient and effective cost and quality control.
Liaise with peer departments to meet the company's goal and targets.
Formulating and implementing policies and procedures for continuous improvement of factory operations and productivity.
Leading, coaching and mentoring personnel to develop talent.
Follows written and verbal instructions and performs other tasks as directed by higher management.
Always use proper tools, equipment & PPE for the task at hand.
Report any operation or quality issues to management immediately.
Report any unsafe work practices or conditions to management immediately and carry out a solution.
Perform all other job duties as assigned by the higher management.
SCOPE AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Oversee multiple departments in the textile mill, maximizing efficiency and operations.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience supervising/mentoring employees.
Energetic, strong leadership, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Good understanding of manufacturing and productivity-geared job roles.
High comfort level working in a diverse environment.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:
Higher education in textile-related fields is preferred but not required.
High School degree required.
2-3 years relevant working experience in operations in the textile field or in a related area in supervisory capacity.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employee must be able to:
Bend, Reach, Push, Pull, Stoop.
Stand for long periods of time
Walk long distances every day
Lift up to 25 to 50 pounds
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Always wear the required PPE if applicable.
Always wear shoes that cover the entire foot, no open toes.
Always keep hair tied back.
Always observe good housekeeping by keeping cotton fibers or any foreign materials, debris off of the floor.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to tolerate indoor work, exposure to cotton dust and noise levels while working.
Salary : $35,000 - $40,560
