What are the responsibilities and job description for the Virtual Buyer position at KEH, Inc.?
We are a fast-growing company, operating in a dynamic environment. The In-house Buyer will support our strong growth plans by joining the Purchasing Team, an integral part of our company. The buyer will be responsible for face-to-face interaction with customers on digital platforms such as zoom as well as customers selling their equipment at our new retail space. In this position some travel is required to tradeshows and the occasional offsite event and applicants must be willing to travel on weekends when necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Meet with customers over video chat to appraise and purchase photographic equipment using KEH camera’s custom appraisal tool
- Ability to quickly inspect, grade and offer pricing on equipment being presented in an open and busy environment.
- Assist walk-in customers in selling their equipment on site at our retail store
- Find opportunities within the photographic industry to expand our reach and purchase more equipment.
- Occasionally visit customers at their homes or offices via appointment to appraise large collections of equipment.
- Work with KEH warehouse operations daily to receive and inspect gear shipped in from customers who participated in a video chat appraisal.
- Occasional travel required for trade shows/offsite purchases with partnered retailers
Education Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
Skills & Key Competencies:
- Works well in a cross functional team environment
- Strong understanding of photographic equipment covering basic operations of a very diverse variety of cameras and camera accessories.
- Must be friendly, positive thinking and customer centric
- Microsoft skills including excel, word, and email
- Ability to lift minimum 25 lbs. overhead
- 5-years’ experience in the camera industry
- Bi-lingual is a plus but not required
