The Behavior Analyst position is a board certified professional employed by the Multidisciplinary Center.  The Behavior Anaylst must reside in the state of Florida.

 

The Behavior Analyst will provide direct and indirect services aligned with the schedule of deliverables to school districts. This will enhance the academic success of students with complex behavioral needs. This position will be involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions with school-based professionals, school-aged students, and families. This position conducts application of behavioral science in school-based interventions. The Behavior Analyst collaborates with members of the KUMDC team to develop and provide web-based professional development and/or trainings to districts and/or families within KUMDC’s service region. This position is grant-funded and is dependent on continuation of grant funding, the types of services provided by KUMDC, and the quality of work performed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide behavioral services and training to clients, conducting functional behavior assessments. Partner with school district teams to participate/facilitate functional behavior assessments and build collaborative function-based intervention plans. (30%)
  • Provide coaching facilitation to school-based teams to implement behavior intervention plans. Coordinate coaching of interventions for educators and families. (30%)
  • Develop data/progress monitoring methods for collecting fidelity and student outcome data. (20%)
  • Demonstrate exceptional written and oral language skills for reporting assessment results, recommendations, and/or case summaries. (20%)
  • Demonstrate proficient use of Web 3.0 applications, videoconferencing software, and cloud-based data management systems. (Ongoing)
  • Stay informed of State and National mandates and initiatives related to best-practices in K-12 Exceptional Student Education and school psychology. (Ongoing)
  • Develop training/-professional development sessions based on data/needs/requests. (Ongoing)

Language, Math and Reasoning  

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and or boards of directors.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distributions, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Behavioral Analysis, School Psychology, Special Education or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in: (a) conducting functional behavior assessments and developing function-based support plans; (b) working in school settings, (c) collaborating with school teams (d) engaging in structured problem-solving processes (e) running brief functional analyses (f) coaching/mentoring others to implement interventions; (g) developing and conducting professional development activities.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid state driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • National certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and such certification must be maintained throughout employment in this classification.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft 365.
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI or higher.
  • Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets.
  • Various internet software.
