Keish Environmental is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic Stormwater Inspector to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring environmental compliance for one of the nation’s most transformative projects—the construction of high-speed rail through California’s Central Valley.


Position Overview

As a Stormwater Inspector, you will:

  • Conduct field inspections of stormwater infrastructure along a corridor spanning 119 miles, with plans to extend to 170 miles from Merced to Bakersfield.
  • Provide expert compliance advice to ensure adherence to NPDES stormwater permits and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and communicate findings effectively with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with client staff, regional managers, legal counsel, and regulatory agencies to maintain high compliance standards.


This is a full-time, in-field and office-based position requiring daily travel to work sites or project offices. Hybrid or remote work options are not available.


What You Bring

  • 5–10 years of experience in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Construction Management.
  • QSP certification is a must. (QSD certification and MS4 experience are highly preferred.)
  • Strong knowledge of stormwater regulations and environmental compliance processes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

The company is headquartered in San Jose, California, with an additional office in Oakland, California. We are a customer-focused company founded to meet the growing need for environmental management systems on large infrastructure projects.  

 

The firm specializes in ensuring regulatory permit conditions, stormwater quality requirements, and environmental document mitigations are implemented in the field to allow smooth construction project delivery. Keish’s practical approach to field oversight and relationships with regulators at the Regional Water Quality Control Board, CA Department of Fish and Wildlife, Corps of Engineers, and NOAA Fisheries helps contractors stay in compliance, and complete work on budget and on schedule.

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
