What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Kelley Construction?
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for all tasks related to maintain budget of project as it relates to accounts payable; assists Chief Financial Officer with day-to-day accounting functions; does other related duties as required.
JOB DUTIES:
- Process Accounts Payable for Project Managers
- Track project productivity to the budget and percentage of completion.
- Manage project documentation, materials, and status monitoring.
- Responsible for subcontractor requirements such as insurance, bonding, and subcontract agreements.
- Prepare close out documents.
- Track subcontractor and supplier lien waivers.
- Track and resolve subcontractor and supplier payment issues.
- Issue bi-weekly checks.
- Issue 1099s.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in Accounts Payable in the construction industry
- Must have proficient knowledge of general accounting procedures, specifically those related to accounts payable
- Familiar with accounting software, Timberline/Sage knowledge is a plus
- Must have experience with lien waivers and payment to subcontractors
- Expert proficiency in data entry and time management
- Must have excellent organizational skills and superior attention to detail and accuracy
- Above average communication and analytical skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Individual will be required to lift, bend, stoop and reach for files, boxes, etc. Must have the ability to use computer, adding machine, and other office machinery. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and working in close proximity with a computer screen.
