Industrial Laborer- Travel
PURPOSE
Under direction of a supervisory official, performs varied types of manual and unskilled laboring work and may drive a truck in connection with laboring work on occasion;
does other related duties as required.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This position involves, but is not limited to, the physical ability to lift and carry items weighing approximately 90 pounds;
climb and work from ladders; bend, stoop, work around moving machinery, work around wood dust and fumes; work in inclement weather conditions.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position involves, but is not limited to : load, lift, and move supplies, furniture, and equipment; dig trenches and do manual grading;
- collect rubbish and other refuse; load and unload trucks; shovel; mix cement and mortar; place and strip forms used in concrete work;
- perform cold patching; sweep; pry and hammer apart sections of wall and roof; load debris into truck for removal; sort, pile, and clean salvageable brick, stone, lumber, and metal work;
occasionally drives trucks; and any and all other related duties assigned from time to time by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to perform manual tasks either alone or as a member of a group; ability to perform heavy manual labor for prolonged periods of the time;
ability to follow prescribed procedures; insuring safety practices are followed on job sites; Valid drivers license required.
