This position is responsible for the Drafting, AutoCAD and NDS; preparing documentations, maps, and design drawings utilizing the latest industry & customer software systems and databases.

The drafter will possess good communications skills, good attitude, flexibility, good problem-solving skills, good customer service skills, basic knowledge of telecom and power engineering & construction. They will work closely with the engineering staff and customers; adapt, follow, and modify standard techniques to produce high quality drawings/prints, maps, and documents per customer requirements and systems. They will deliver high quality project designs, plans, as-built, field notes and drawings per customer’s requirements and expectations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Designing and drafting utility installation drawings for as-builds, creating land bases, drafting plan and profiles, researching rights-of-way, assisting with drafting traffic control plans
  • Working closely with the engineering, scientific, and design teams to ensure effective project coordination
  • Conducting drawing reviews as appropriate for completeness and accuracy
  • Organizing and maintaining project drawings, files, and related information
  • Working closely with field survey and/or field technicians
  • Working under minimal supervision

  • Proficient knowledge of Esri Products (ArcGIS, AGOL, Collector, Survey 123)
  • Proficient knowledge of ArcPy, Python, ArcGIS Runtime

Experience and Education:

  • Two (2) or more years of relevant AutoCAD design/drafting experience with strong Civil 3D skills is required
  • Two (2) or more years of AutoCAD experience for underground utility engineering applications, utility plats, profiles, land plots, rights-of-way corridors, mapping projects and significant experience with Civil 3D is preferred
  • Experience with ArcGIS Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) software and pathfinder office is preferred
  • Proven customer service skills are a preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
