Job Title: Test Engineer

Location: Simi Valley, CA (on-site)

Pay: $80,000 - $130,000 (DOE)

Employment: Full-time (M-F, 8am-5pm)

Reports to: General Manager; Engineering Manager

Job Description:

The Test Engineer provides military and space requirement testing services on semiconductor parts in accordance with customer requirements via Automatic Testing Equipment (ATE) or custom test fixturing for reliability of EEE parts used in mission critical systems for DoD contractors, Space Community and NASA.

Main Responsibilities:

To provide engineering support to the engineering test department as an ATE programmer of complex digital devices, such as ASIC, FPGA, Microprocessors, controllers, VLSI ICs including mixed signal devices. Employee will be trained in the applicable training center for the test platform and certified by on-the-job training. Devices to be tested are for major defense and space industry customers requiring read and record data and test program documentation. Custom implementation will require design and fixturing experience for semiconductor/EEE parts validation to customer specification requirements.

Required Skills and Education:

• Experience with Test Systems including Ultraflex, Chroma, Eagle, Sentry and Next Test.
• Experience with DLA and DoD requirements in MIL-PRF-38535, -19500; MIL-STD-883, -750, -202 for manufacturing and testing, qualification of EEE semiconductor components.
• Ability to problem solve electronic testing issues patiently in stress situations.
• Knowledge of C coding and programming and/or BASIC programming.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Education or related courses relevant to job
• Knowledge of semiconductor parts in design and layout implementation for fixture development.
• Familiarity with CAD design software, schematic layout to electronic Gerber files to fabrication
• Pass a background check, if applicable
• Pass E-Verify of DHS
• Eligibility to work in ITAR Compliant Facility (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in semiconductor/testing (will consider strong candidates with 3-4 years of experience)
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)

Responsibilities:

• The Test Engineer of DPACI provide military and space requirement testing services on semiconductor parts in accordance with customer requirements via Automatic Testing Equipment (ATE) or custom test fixturing for reliability of EEE parts used in mission critical systems for DoD contractors, Space Community and NASA
• To provide engineering support to the engineering test department as an ATE programmer of complex digital devices, such as ASIC, FPGA, Microprocessors, controllers, VLSI ICs including mixed signal devices
• Employee will be trained in the applicable training center for the test platform and certified by on-the-job training by ATE training classes and experienced DPACI employees and our QA Department
• Devices to be tested are for major defense and space industry customers requiring read and record data and test program documentation
• Custom implementation will require design and fixturing experience for semiconductor parts validation to customer specification requirements
• Develop test programs on applicable digital/mix signal ATE for the Teradyne Ultra Flex via IG-XL software on workstation to measure parametrically and functionally the device under test in accordance with device specifications
• Design and develop applicable test fixtures based on military test standards for semiconductor device parameters
• Work with other engineers to develop test strategies and test software on different test platforms
• Design reliability stress test schematics for Burn-in, HTRB, HTOL, test fixtures and sockets
• Prepare documentation of designs and test reports for delivery to customer
• Assist Technicians in trouble shooting testability issues and make software modifications
• Perform testing on ATE platform for debug of software and hardware designed
• Read and record data validation of all testing designed and programmed to customer requirements
• Document schematics, materials, part numbers, designs for test fixtures
