Kelly is seeking a Fixed Assets Consultant to work with our client, a leader in the biotech industry, on a temporary basis for 6-12 months (possibly longer) at their Santa Clara and Sunnyvale locations.
The Fixed Assets Consultant will report into the Sr. Accounting Manager and be part of the North America GL team. This role will be responsible for all aspects of accounting related to capital expenditure as well as completing the month-end process related to Fixed Assets and monthly reporting packets.
Specifically, the Fixed Assets Consultant will:
- Be responsible for RRA (capitalization, returns, buyouts & disposals) and CAR process
- Participate in the month end close cycle through the preparation of monthly journal entries and Fixed Asset Balance Sheet reconciliations and monthly, quarterly & annual Fixed Asset Statistical reporting to the Parent Corporation
- Maintain Fixed Assets accounting processes including acquisitions, transfers, dispositions, and monthly depreciation along with another FA accountant
- Reconcile and monitor Construction in Process (CIP) for in use service dates by partnering with various business partners such as FP&A team, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, vendors and requestors
- Handle monthly CFO Packet Schedules
- Be a key Owner of the Corporate Fixed Asset Physicals which includes planning/scheduling, initiating, reconciling, and closing out the physical inventories
- Provide Ad Hoc Support for Sr. AP Manager as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with FP&A, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and OPS team
- Support internal and external audits
- Assist Management on various projects/tasks as needed throughout Controller Organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
- 8 years of professional accounting experience, including Fixed Assets accounting experience
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel Suite Products and SAP
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction from management
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong working knowledge of general accounting concepts, monthly close process, financial reporting, and GAAP concepts
- Motivated, self-directed, and results-driven approach to work
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining highest quality of work
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Capable of establishing effective working relationships that promote teamwork and collaboration
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to interact effectively with various levels of staff and management
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to independently develop solutions to problems/challenges as they arise
- Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods
- Able to handle complex analysis/account reconciliations for problem areas.
- Able to handle remediation and make recommendations for change when issues arise
