Senior Lab Technologist - Houston, TX 77086
Direct Hire: $100,000 Target Salary

JOB SUMMARY:
In this role, candidates will be performing water analysis for various water/wastewater samples in an accurate and timely manner. Candidates will operate various analytical instruments such as IC, ICP-OES, TOC machine, and HACH spectrophotometer according to inhouse SOP and standard methods. Degree in chemistry/environmental engineering/science and prior lab experiences especially in water analytics highly preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate instruments for Ion Chromatography (IC), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES), Total Organic Carbon (TOC) & bench water testing such as Hach devices and titrations that are compliant with recognized standard procedures such as EPA, APHA or USEPA method.
- Ensure longevity of said equipment via regular preventative maintenance and upkeep of any relevant records and documentation
- Support all urgent and routine water testing sent by clients or internal lab studies by performing standards calibration, blank check, QC check, and ensure all testing results are delivered accurately in accordance with developed methods.
- Interface with teammates on sample submissions, job status, and all water testing requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers for procurement of lab supplies and consumables
- Ensure good safety and housekeeping practices
- Participate in safety committee duties and lab upkeep
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Comfortable dealing with various wastewater samples and chemicals
- Able to work on concurrent projects while managing various schedules
- 5 years of prior experience in water analytics, wet chemistry, and lab upkeep is required
- Proactive and meticulous while handling tasks
