Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Secretary to join our law firm. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, ensuring the efficient operation of the office and contributing to the delivery of high-quality legal services. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and organizing meetings.
- Document Management: Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports. Maintain and organize case files and legal records, both physical and electronic.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed. Assist clients with inquiries and provide updates on case progress.
- Research Assistance: Conduct basic legal research and gather relevant information as directed by attorneys. Assist with the preparation of trial and hearing materials.
- Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with various courts and administrative agencies, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Office Management: Maintain office supplies, coordinate maintenance of office equipment, and ensure a professional and organized work environment.
Skills/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree, certification in paralegal studies, or general office experience is preferred
- Strong project management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in document preparation on Microsoft formats
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
