Potential reduction hours due to Wednesday early release, early dismissals for parent conferences, holidays, and last day of school; reduction hours subject to change. Job assignment and/or building assignment are subject to change based on program needs determined by the district.
Pay Range: PSE 1 Salary Schedule

Essential Functions
Supervision of small groups of KVA students who are between classes. Supervision location could vary. KVA Principal will inform paraeducator where to report for supervision duties.
Maintain a student sign in/sign out sheet of student's attendance
Basic understanding of how to troubleshoot Chromebooks and log into online learning platforms.
Basic understanding of how to use Google Drive to find and upload information & Microsoft Word
Willingness to become proficient with Odysseyware to check student progress, adjust course work as directed by certificated teacher and other duties as needed in Odysseyware.
To work with individuals and/or groups of students on assigned tasks and in the implementation of the educational program.
Maintain records and produce instructional materials as directed.
Work with teachers to review weekly and monthly ALE paperwork and advise teachers of paperwork that needs to be updated/changed.
Supervise students in the classroom when reporting to Loowit Building
Must have regular and consistent attendance
Assist staff and students as directed
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess valid CPI training (or obtain upon employment)
Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of diversity among individual students and the ability to set appropriate expectations for individual students
Demonstrated ability to work with individual students and small groups of students on planning for course work engagement and other interventions
Previous Experience Or Training Working With At-risk Students Preferred
Demonstrated ability to relate successfully to K-12 age students and students with disabilities
Ability to uphold board policies and follow administrative procedures
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with parents and a variety of staff members
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and be able to project a positive, friendly and caring attitude toward others
Ability to handle confidential matters appropriately and ethically
Ability to work with records, school, and ALE
Ability and willingness to participate in activities and responsibilities as assigned by KVA teacher
Ability to efficiently operate common office equipment such as copier, calculator, computer, printer, Chromebook.
Demonstrated ability to perform general office procedures
Must be a "self-motivator" toward assigned duties
Willingness to participate in in-service offerings and local workshops
Ability to accept directions and constructive criticism to improve job performance
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written work and be proficient in mathematics
Neat, clean personal appearance and traits that make him/her a good role model for students; work apparel should be appropriate to promote a professional and safe work environment
EDUCATION
High school diploma and/or recognized equivalent; prior job related experience; AND, must meet at least one of following options per ESEA regulations: (1) hold an AA degree; OR (2) have completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher learning (72 quarter hrs or 48 semester hrs - all at a 100 level or above); OR (3) successfully pass the Parapro Assessment (all 6 areas) developed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS); OR (4) other areas as they become defined
Must complete two days (14 hours) of training on the Fundamental Course of Study as described in RCW 28A.413.040 within the first year of employment.
