- A valid Washington State teaching certificate
- Demonstrated ability to teach reading and writing
- Ability to work as a team member

- Demonstrated strong skills and background in instructional methods
- Demonstrated ability to manage, inventory, and select individualized learning materials
- Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in curriculum and instruction

- Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out instructions to meet varied needs of students
- Knowledge of essential learnings and ability to integrate them in the classroom
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of assessment strategies, including preparing students for the MSP
