The Opportunity: Instructional Developer
Location: Reston, VA
Summary: The Instructional Developer will be responsible for overall training program across multiple formats, venues and channels that allow for widespread and flexible dissemination of training materials and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Designs and implement a consolidated familiarization training plan and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs). Creates and facilitate formal training, online training, desk-side training, and small collaborative sessions. Incorporates training in support of the roll-out of new capabilities. Plans and delivers training across multiple channels and media including traditional instructor led classroom, online computer based, desk-side sessions or just-in-time single-lesson videos.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Fully certified IAW DoD 8570 IAT Level II or equivalent information assurance certifications including Security
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education related to specific functional area. Demonstrated substantive knowledge and considerable experience relevant to the functional area of at least four (4) years (may substitute 4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, or substitute Master’s degree in lieu of two (2) years of experience)
- Ability to work independently and with a team as a member or a team leader
- Proficiency collaborating with staff at all experience levels to deliver short-term commitments along with success completing and coordinating tasks across cross-functional teams in a supporting role
Additional Qualifications:
Experience leading and developing and delivering complex capabilities and processes in one or more of the following areas:
- Designing and developing interactive courseware for customer training
- Selecting appropriate vehicles and delivery channels to achieve desired performance (instructor-led, computer-based training courses, virtual web-based programs, blended solutions, job aids, or other performance interventions)
- Designing and develops curriculum, total course materials for participants and facilitators including instruction, exercises, evaluations, activities, job aids and all other required materials, in accordance with departmental and business needs/requirements
- Tracking and reporting on task analysis, training requirements, training hierarchies, instructional materials, and evaluation plans
- Converting written materials and/or training requirements to interactive courseware. Experience developing educational multimedia, using tools such as Captivate, Camtasia, Dreamweaver, Articulate Studio, or Captivity
- Interacting with customer and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy of instructional content
- Evaluating materials during development for instructional alignment and appropriate styles, standards, and specifications
