Position: Visitor Services Representative

Reports To: Kenai Chamber Executive Director

Pay: $14/hour

Under the direction of the Executive Director, this part-time position (no more than 30 hours per week) serves as the Visitor Services Representative for the Kenai Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center (KCCVC). The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day activities and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Visitor Center, Cultural Center, and at times Moose Meat John Cabin.

We are currently looking for a seasonal employee (end of May-August), there is a possibility of staying as a permanent employee if there is a position available after August. We are also looking for availability on-call currently before seasonal position begins as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Visitor Services Representative: Act as front desk representative for the KCCVC by answering phones, taking messages, providing information for guests, restocking inventory, and maintaining the presentation of the lobby area. Process sales transactions and handle credit/debit card transactions through the POS system.

Training and Experience:

• 1-year experience in either the visitor industry, retail or customer service required.
• Interest in history, culture, or museum studies is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to the enrichment of visitors' experiences is essential.

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Ability to aid visitors and the public in a kind and enthusiastic manner.
• Ability to promote the KCCVC and member businesses with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work well with other employees on various projects.
• Willingness and motivation to learn new skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Knowledge of Kenai area and culture preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• The ideal candidate must be physically capable of standing and remaining on their feet for extended periods, up to 8 hours, to perform the required duties efficiently.
• The position may involve lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and therefore, candidates should be able to meet this physical demand with or without reasonable accommodation.

KCCVC is an at-will employer. This position is an employee of KCCVC's Board of Directors under the general supervision and direction of the Executive Director.
