Job Summary
The Workforce Development Supervisor manages the Workforce Development program at Kenaitze Indian Tribe. The successful candidate will develop partnerships with tribal programs, schools, local businesses, and community organizations to promote vocational training opportunities, permanent employment, and promote equity in the workforce for Kenaitze Indian Tribal members, Tribal spouses, and eligible Alaska Native, and American Indians. The Workforce Development Supervisor will manage the apprentice programs funded through the Education Department. This position will closely assist with the development and operation of the caseloads that the two (2) Workforce Development Coordinators manage as they work with un'ina. The Workforce Development Supervisor will identify, create, and implement a program of study surrounding career counseling, life skills, and inventories. The superivsor will lead in the delivery of the curriculum. The Incumbent will track, gather, and report on data from the program in order to monitor the success of the program and to meet any and all grant requirements.
Essential Functions
- Develops workforce programs that guide un'ina to self-sufficiency
- Reviews all cases to ensure quality and adherence to grant regulations, and stays informed on education and employment trends, recommending potential changes in service delivery
- Supervises Workforce Development Coordinators, oversees the workforce development program, and leads staffing meetings to ensure grant regulations are being adhered
- Oversees marketing of the workforce development program throughout the community
- Collaborates with supervisor and staff to ensure the Tribe's representation at essential Tribal, local, state and federal employment meetings and activities
- Develops and assist in leading trainings on life skills, employability skills, independent living skills and other skills necessary for clients to complete education and obtain employment
- Manages the tribal scholarship program
- Collects data in relation to un'ina progress following all grant requirements
- Assists with grant reporting as determined by the Education & Career Development Manager
- Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or Human Services related field, or a combination of education and experience in a related field may be substituted for a degree
Experience
- Three (3) years of experience in community based programs
- Experience working with Department of Public Assistance, Department of Education, and other State and Federal agencies
- Experience in the development of community program strategies
- Experience managing private, state and federal grants; and grant compliance
- Experience in developing policy and procedures
Preferred
- Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities
License/Certification
- Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required upon hire, or within 30 days

This position is a Covered Position subject to all requirements of the Alaska Barrier Crimes Act (ABCA) and to the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, (ICPA). ABCA and ICPA requirements apply and must be complied with at all times in order to remain in the position.
