About the Position
The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for acting as a coach / leader of Inventory Clerks. The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for coaching and training teammates as well as fulfilling their own assigned duties. The Lead may have various responsibilities including, but not limited to, inventory control, inventory control reporting, general warehouse functions, material handling operations (e.g., forklift operation).
Functions
- Assists Supervisor with physical inventories and cycle counts of both inbound and outbound product to ensure inventory accuracy in the network or at a site.
- Supports Supervisor in directing inventory staff in the completion of work. Supports training and adherence to all corporate and site level procedures and policies, and Standard Work as outlined in the Kenco Quality Management System (KQMS) in addition to the Employee Involvement Program, Labor Management, LEAN, and Six Sigma manufacturing processes.
- Ensures operational / customer issues are communicated and met as required.
- Participates in root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies, including research and resolution. Uses various problem-solving tools such as Continuous Improvement and LEAN Six Sigma tools / methodology to determine root cause and resolution.
- Consolidates and reports on quality hold product, if applicable.
- Assists with stow consolidations to create space in the warehouse as needed.
- Safely operates powered industrial equipment to move products or materials for distribution such as clamp / slip sheet equipment, order picker; load, unload, and stores materials / products in designated areas.
- Supports the operation to ensure facility is always inspection-ready for ISO, FDA, and customer needs.
- Reviews and analyzes daily inventory reports.
- Serves as backup to other warehouse roles, as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
