Use your experience, work ethic, motivation, and time management skills to take your career to the next level. We are hiring an entry-level legal assistant to join our in-house legal team. At Kendall Auto Group, our legal department is a dynamic working environment managing litigation matters and a broad swath of legal questions facing our dealerships in five different states. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented multi-tasker, with a strong work ethic, who can prioritize tasks and demonstrate good time management. This position is NOT remote and is full-time during regular business hours. This is an entry level position with a starting wage range of $23-$27 per hour DOE.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction and supervision of an attorney, drafting basic pleadings and other court filings.
- Organize, update, and manage the status of ongoing litigation cases and garnishments/ maintain case calendaring and deadline reminder systems.
- File, scan and copy legal and human resources documents to maintain a computerized records system for cases and garnishments.
- Compile form packets for garnishment paperwork and other legal and human resources matters.
- Assists with overflow projects to include creating, formatting, and editing documents.
- Provides a variety of administrative support functions to the Legal Department and to the Human Resources Department.
- Working conditions are primarily indoors spending up to full work shift working on PC, standing and/or walking for short distances throughout work shift.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and administrative skills to ensure that you stay on top of monitoring areas of responsibility including deadlines and filings.
- Proficient with MS Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently.
- 1-2 years of prior paralegal or legal assistant experience preferred.
- Familiarity with civil legal processes, procedures, practices, and protocols a plus.
