Job Purpose and Reporting Structure :
Under the direction of the Traffic Manager, this individual loads, unloads, and moves materials within the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :
Qualification Requirements :

Education and / or Experience :
Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma and three to twelve months of related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes.
Language Skills :
Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to write and computer generate various reports and business correspondence as requested. Ability to speak clearly using a telephone and effectively present information and respond to questions from visitors, customers, and vendors. Must be able to communicate effectively and fluently and possess a courteous, friendly, and professional speaking manner.
Mathematical Skills :
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability :
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :
Requires the ability to obtain a forklift operator's license.
Other Skills and Abilities :
Requires the ability to operate various equipment including a forklift, hand trucks, banding tools, shrink wrap machine, battery charger, and a variety of office machines such as copier, FAX, and calculator.
Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, reach above shoulders, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and use foot / feet to operate machine.
The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
