The Development Coordinator will be a key partner in the next phase of growth in the Center’s fundraising and development program, building on decades of success with grass-roots, local fundraising campaigns. The Development Coordinator will be part of a team with strong knowledge of the local community and experience with cultivating supporters of the Center. This new position will take the lead in maintaining effective fundraising/development operations, with an emphasis on building new channels for raising awareness and financial support, including new corporate/organizational partnerships and engagement with young professionals in the area. The Executive Director will set the goals and oversee fundraising teamwork among key staff across the Center, clarifying team member responsibilities as we build out the development program.

The following is an overview of the Development Coordinator’s top priorities. These are all equally important.
● Development Operations: Act as the lead person on the team for designated development activities: corporate partnerships, Free Will system for legacy gifts, and special fundraising events. Maintain accurate records in the Bloomerang database, oversee the gift entry and acknowledgment process so that gratitude and impact are expressed in a timely and meaningful manner. Maximize use of reporting and analysis tools in Bloomerang to support data-driven planning and decision-making.
● Executive Support: Support the Executive Director in her relationship building with companies and organizations who could become partner-sponsors of the Center. Coordinate meetings and create collateral materials. Work closely with the Executive Director and the agency’s leadership team to develop annual fundraising goals and budgets, tracking progress and performance against targets. Prepare regular reports on fundraising activities, financial metrics, and donor engagement for board meetings. Conduct research in order to identify potential partnership opportunities with individuals, foundations and corporations.
● Stewardship: Ensure that the Development Program follows an intentional cycle of engagement with supporters and prospective supporters: engage, ask, thank, repeat. Work in close collaboration with the Executive Director, the Director of Community and Senior Services, and the Board maintain meaningful connections in the local community while expanding connections beyond the core group of supporters.
● Event Planning: Plan and execute special events that inspire, educate and cultivate supporters and bring individuals closer to the Kennedy Center’s mission. Serve as the team lead for a new annual event specifically for corporate partners. Ensure the successful execution of event logistics, working closely with the Executive Director and any other key people as needed. Produce sponsorship materials and templates; track sponsorship asks, pledges, and payments; and ensure sponsors are acknowledged as promised.
● Cross Organization Collaboration: Visit with staff across all programs to maintain up-to-date knowledge/understanding of program activities, impact, outcomes, and needs. Collaborate with the appropriate point people on ideas to promote programs and generate support.
