Duties and Responsibilities
- Co-lead the middle school age after school program five days per week
- Plan, implement and lead providing educational and leadership activities for young men
- Plan, prepare and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that includes homework assistance, group projects, global awareness, health and fitness education
- Establish and maintain effective communication with parents/guardians
- Positively engage with youth during program hours
- Maintains accountability of all assigned students at all times
- Utilize positive behavior guidance techniques with students
- Communicate in a positive, appropriate, timely manner with staff, youth and families
- Maintain a safe, organized and healthy environment by fostering cooperative social behaviors
- Communicate and build partnerships with parents/guardians, schools, and other community based organizations to enhance the program experiences for youth
- Assist with the coordination of family outreach activities
- Drive KHCC 15 passenger van when taking youth to events and activities off site
- Respect the confidentiality of all youth, volunteers and staff
- Attend required training and meetings
- Complete paperwork and maintain all required certifications
- Qualifications
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices with middle school adolescents
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Prefer experience working with staff and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 – 20 per week
Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
