Hours & Pay:
This is a summer position with the option to join our school year team
Up to $19 per hour, pay is based on education and experience
Full-time, up to 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, June 16-August 15, with the option to work August 18-22
Required training will take place in May and June
Position Summary: The MSU instructor plans and implements a recreational and educational week-long summer course for middle school age students. The primary responsibilities of the position are to provide direct supervision and instruction to an assigned group of students, ensure their safety, and provide a quality, inclusive enrichment course.
Course Information: Possible courses include outdoor sports and games, STEM challenges, painting, photography, Lego robotics, gym sports, and many more. Each course is one week-long and takes place from either 9 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Some courses are full day and take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Must be 18 years old
- Has experience in group management and program planning for middle school aged students
- Has two years toward a bachelor’s degree related to the course and/or related experience instructing in the course subject
Program Locations: Our Middle School U program operates out of school buildings in Madison and Verona
