Accounting Clerk
Position Summary:
The Accounting Clerk performs a variety of general and accounting clerical duties to support the operations of a program, department, or office. This role is responsible for processing invoices, handling accounts payable transactions, reconciling financial discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with financial policies. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience with financial systems and recordkeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, and process invoices for various payable accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
- Conduct extensive research to resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders, invoices, receiving confirmations, approvals, and verifications.
- Process reimbursements for schools and employee travel and mileage, ensuring adherence to travel policies and procedures.
- Communicate with schools, offices, and vendors to resolve invoice, purchase order, and payment-related inquiries.
- Prepare and process ledger and journal entries with precise amounts, dates, and account details.
- Utilize Advantage Financial and other automated systems to enter, retrieve, and compile financial data.
- Review and process financial records, forms, and documents according to established regulations and procedures.
- Enter and retrieve financial information using database systems and accounting software.
- Prepare and manage work orders, requisitions, vouchers, invoices, journal entries, and other standard office forms.
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper-based filing systems for financial records and reports.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Strong understanding of general accounting and clerical procedures.
- Proficiency in financial systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).
- Ability to process invoices, payments, and reimbursements with accuracy and efficiency.
