Essential Duties include the following:
- Manage and lead crews or projects ranging from $1M-$2.5M
- Ensures every job is planned out for smooth execution
- Oversee a team of two or more Foreman and manage a workforce ranging from 10 to 20 employees
- Collaborate with Human Resources to develop field org chart and responsibilities
- Mentor and train direct reports, identifying potential future leaders with HR. Ensure crew compliance with policies and hold them accountable for performance
- Complete required employee evaluations and provide timely feedback
- Communicate frequently with General Contractor, Supervisor, and other trades to ensure efficient project coordination and progress. Participate in all relevant meetings
- Keep Project Manager informed of any project changes or impacts
- Communicate material status to Journeyman and Apprentices
- Provide all necessary documentation to the office promptly
- Study and evaluate blueprints, spec books, and track changes and as-builts
- Assign tasks to Journeyman and Apprentices, providing feedback on progress
- Assist with material procurement, including organizing and tracking purchase orders
- Plan and detail projects thoroughly before starting, including layout and installation of electrical components based on specifications and codes, as well as identifying temporary manpower needs
- Review and ensure compliance with current NEC codes and oversee QA/QC and installations
- Coordinate with QA/QC on labeling and equipment turnovers
- Identify and utilize Prefab opportunities
- Collaborate with BIM department on project needs
- Develop an understanding of project financials and assist the project manager as needed
- Track change orders and account for tasking and reporting
- Develop project schedules and provide trade milestones to relevant staff
- Collaborate with management on manpower projections and needs
- Identify, communicate, and track project delays
- Complete daily project documentation and red lines
- Schedule project inspections as required
- Coordinate site MOP’s (Method of Procedure)
- Assist with project closeout process
- Repair, replace, assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools
- Troubleshoot and test electrical systems using testing devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, and test lamps
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and repair needs while ensuring compliance with local codes
- Assist with tool procurement, organization, and tracking, including rental equipment
- Understands and follows Kenny Electric’s processes and procedures
- Direct weekly safety training meetings and conduct safety training as needed
- Facilitate and attend in-house training sessions as required
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Current Journeyman or Master Electrician with a Colorado license
- Extensive experience in wiring systems, all phases of project installation, electrical control work, troubleshooting, and purchasing of electrical material and parts
- Knowledge of current NEC and industry-related practices, including area classifications
- Ability to run two or more crews on large and/or small projects and supervise, evaluate, and develop Lead Journeymen, Journeymen, and Apprentices
- Completed four or more projects from start-up to completion as a Foreman or Supervisor I or II
- Experience in commercial and/or industrial environments, with at least 2 year of prior supervisory experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, assertive problem-solving ability, and adherence to professional conduct in addressing issues with appropriate parties
- OSHA 30 Certification and current First Aid/CPR Certification
- Preferred knowledge of P&ID and control schematics
- Proficiency in computer operation, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Effective time management skills, adaptability to different project sizes, and availability for overtime or irregular business hours as needed
- Demonstrated understanding of Supervisor duties, responsibilities, and expectations based on the size and type of construction project
- Proven leadership skills
- Proven quality electrician installation and mechanical abilities
- Ability to manage and understand project budgets in collaboration with the Project Manager
