Job Title: Advanced Technologist
Location: Pflugerville, Texas
Salary: $140k
A company aiming to provide clean and affordable electricity is hiring an Advanced Technologist, Additive to join their Industrialization department.
As the Level 2 support for prototype and production operations, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing the machine fleet and contributing to engineering development activities for additively manufactured hardware.
This position reports to the Site Operations Manager and offers an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of additive manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot unplanned downtime occurrences on additive machines.
- Handle escalations of machine issues and problem-solving.
- Identify improvements and streamline post-processing steps for additively manufactured hardware.
- Collaborate with engineering on parameter development and material introduction.
- Train and develop other machine techs to improve overall support capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree and 2 years of technical experience, or, a High School Diploma and 5 years field service or electrical/mechanical technician experience.
- 3 years of work experience on LPBF (laser powder bed fusion) machines (preferred).
- Experience using additive laser printing machines (GE Additive/Concept Laser machines preferred).
- Electrical/mechanical intuition and knowledge of optical systems and control.
- Highly collaborative personality with a willingness to learn and adapt.
Day-to-day:
This position typically works in a production/assembly/engineering lab environment and may involve travel visiting engineering providers and hardware suppliers, as well as our Ohio facility (10% travel).
