Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and driven Design and Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role bridges design, engineering, and production, working closely with sales, customers, and production teams to develop new product lines and improve existing ones. The ideal candidate will excel at drafting, cost estimation, and prototype management, while also contributing to manufacturing efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

Product Design and Development

Collaborate with sales, customers, and production teams to create innovative new product lines.
Improve designs for existing products, focusing on quality and cost-effectiveness.
Utilize SolidWorks drafting software to revise technical drawings and create new models.

Manufacturing Support

Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring alignment with current production methods.

Provide cost estimates and quotes for the sales department.

Create packaging layouts and assembly instructions to simplify customer use.

Prototype Management

Lead projects from concept to production.

Finalize designs in collaboration with the production department.

Coordinate with fabricators, finishing teams, and vendors to ensure quality and timeliness.

Document production methods, design changes, and assembly processes.

Job Book and Process Management

Oversee job launch processes, including updating drawings, optimizing operations, and coordinating BOM releases.

Post-job reviews to update prints, operations, and cost models as needed.

Manage graphics in coordination with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

Required

Associate's Degree in Engineering or a related field.

1 year of experience with SolidWorks drafting software.

Preferred :

1 year of mechanical engineering experience.

Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel.

Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

Ability to multi-task effectively and manage time efficiently.
