About the job:

Kent is looking for an Electrical and I&C Department Manager to be based in Houston, TX.


You will work with the Electrical and I&C Teams to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery on all projects.


Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Team performance and adherence to Kent process and procedures.
  • Responsible for Work Hour Estimates.
  • Responsible for Overhead Budget Control through effective deployment of personnel and maximizing their utilization.
  • Develop, implement, and manage strategies and organizational plans for project execution consistent with established program business plans, training objectives, and HSSEQ policies.
  • Stay up to date on Engineering Systems/ Tools and Industry Codes / Standards.
  • Develop and recommend improvements to Engineering and Design standards to ensure highly effective and efficient Engineering execution, improve Quality, and lower Cost.
  • Identify potential Engineering risks and develop strategies to mitigate. Implement these strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Work with counterparts in other offices to ensure consistent execution and quality delivery across offices / regions.
  • Ensure the availability of resources and their ability to execute quality and cost-effective Engineering Designs to meet project demands.
  • Work with other Engineering Discipline Managers to optimize interfaces.
  • Work with the Quality Team to support internal / external audit requests.
  • Monitor Quality, Schedule Adherence, and Budget for all projects.


In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such taskswill be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.


Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
  • P.E. License in the State of Texas. NCEE record preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in the O&G industry with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Department Management role.
  • Mid to Large size EPC project experience. USGC. FEED and Detailed Design scopes.
  • Greenfield / Brownfield Project and Site experience.
  • Broad understanding of Electrical and I&C Engineering / Design for all project phases.
  • Multiple office project execution experience.
  • Working knowledge of US and International Industry Codes and Standards.
  • Working knowledge of Power Distribution System Design including LV / MV / HV systems, Prefabricated Power Distribution Centers / Buildings, Lighting, Grounding, Electric Heat Tracing, Cathodic Protection, and Inter-Discipline Interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of Control and Safety Systems (ICSS, DCS, SIS, FGS), Prefabricated Remote Instrument Enclosures
  • / Buildings, Telecommunication Systems, Instrumentation, and Inter-Discipline Interfaces.


Communication:

  • Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal/rapport building skills necessary to plan/coordinate processes for results.

  • Strong leadership, people development and interpersonal skills.

  • The Employee shall observe the Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environment and Quality rules of the Company; it’s clients and the governing authorities of the host country.
