Position Overview:
Kent’s Market is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resource Manager to lead and enhance our HR operations across all store locations. This key leadership position is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that support our mission of exceptional service—to both our employees and the customers we serve.
The Human Resource manager oversees the planning, development, implementation, and administration of all human resource programs. Areas of responsibility include recruitment and staffing, employee relations, performance management, policy development, employment law compliance, and training and development initiatives. A strong emphasis is placed on executing monthly employee trainings that reinforce Kent’s Market’s core values and commitment to outstanding service.
This role collaborates closely with leadership on policy and program development, providing strategic recommendations that align with company goals. In conjunction with store directors, department heads, the HR manager helps create training programs that boost employee morale and drive top-tier customer service. The position also serves as a trusted advisor to Store Directors on administrative and generalist HR matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate HR activities with store teams
- Analyze and ensure compliance with employment laws, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and other federal and state regulations.
- Develop, interpret, and implement HR policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and company standards.
- Participate in and help resolve employee relations matters as needed.
- Continually develop and provide educational opportunities for all employees.
- Implement and lead monthly in-store employee training sessions.
- Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Travel to each store supporting management where needed
Position Requirements:
- PHR certification preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum of 2 years of HR and leadership experience. SHERM Human resources certification preferred (or equivalent combination).
- Demonstrated leadership ability and understanding of human resources functions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization
- Must be willing and able to travel regularly to store locations (use of personal vehicle required)
- Regular on-site attendance is essential, this is not a remote position. 50% of time will be spent inside store locations working and training with employees and supervisors.
