Description
The Kentucky Judicial Branch offers exciting career opportunities with the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) in Frankfort and the state courts that operate in all 120 Kentucky counties.
The AOC Department of Human Resources has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Specialist on its HR Processing & Payroll Team. The workstation for this position is in Frankfort.
As an HR Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our employees and ensuring the smooth operation of essential HR functions. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to both employees and management. This includes facilitating successful onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring that employees' pay, and benefits are accurate and delivered on time, and maintaining compliance with master data and records.

Characteristics of the Job: This Human Resources Specialist provides professional-level support to employees, supervisors, and appointing authorities as related to assigned human resources functions. These functions include, but are not limited to, personnel processing and the facilitation of payroll and employee benefits.
Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible for understanding and applying personnel policies, pay practices, and relevant regulations related to assigned functions.
- Reviews, prepares, and/or submits personnel, payroll, and benefits actions.
- Provides guidance pertaining to appropriate personnel actions and facilitates transfers to external agencies.
- Maintains confidential personnel, payroll, and medical records for the agency.
- Provides technical support to all levels of management as related to assigned human resources functions, including but not limited to personnel processing, payroll, and employee benefits.
- Serves as liaison and provides processing support as related to employee benefits.
- Contacts benefit providers to obtain information about services, assist employees in expediting claim services, provide guidance on completing forms, etc.
- Adheres to communicated deadlines, payroll calendar, and timelines outlined in the personnel policies.
- Attends workshops, seminars, and other training sessions as assigned.
- Conducts research as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
