Promote a community-based brand by joining a marketing team that is focused on saving lives! Kentucky Blood Center is seeking a Social Media and Digital Content Coordinator that is responsible for creating compelling content to drive marketing campaigns across digital and traditional platforms. The position reports to the Director of Media and Branding, and will work closely with the Donor Recruitment and Donor Scheduling teams. It will also assist with other duties and projects as assigned, and will provide back-up support for the Marketing Specialist.
The role will support KBC's mission by increasing blood donations and engagement. Core duties include:
Social Media:
- Execution and maintenance of strategies for various platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Composition of content, user interactions, and continuous monitoring.
- Management of paid advertising, including creation of copy and graphics, search engine optimization, testing, and assessment of results/reach.
- Development of campaign goals (spend, impressions, clicks, and other metrics); creates and analyzes related reports, making recommendations to department leaders and other stakeholders.
- Oversees live coverage of organizational events.
Digital Marketing:
- Identifies and develops stories and other collateral material related to the importance of blood donation for internal and external use, including creative design, text, audio and video.
- Manages paid digital advertising with media partners, including decisions related to content, placement, and targeting.
- Supports media pitches and internal communications for the department, including generating content for KBC’s monthly employee newsletter.
Work Environment: This position regularly involves the following:
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Fulfill basic clerical duties (typing/writing) for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 30 pounds without assistance.
- Occasionally bend or reach to perform various job tasks.
- Analyze complex situations and make sound decisions.
- Adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
- Occasionally travel to fulfill essential job functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Creative Services, Communications, or other related field; other acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered, with high school diploma or equivalent, required.
- 1 to 3 years of marketing experience with demonstrated content development and social media management background.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, social media platforms, and other web-based applications.
- Advanced familiarity with commercial copiers, scanners, and printers.
- Must demonstrate exceptional creativity, content development, and editorial skills, with the ability to formulate concepts and ideas.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills required.
- Must have valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, and to also regularly monitor KBC social media accounts outside of business hours.
