We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ophthalmic Tech/Surgery Scheduler to join our team. This position involves assisting ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care in a professional and efficient manner.
Duties
- Conduct preliminary examinations, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history.
- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring accurate data collection.
- Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize software for patient management and documentation.
- Educate patients about eye health, treatment options, and post-procedure care.
- Collaborate with the front desk staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling.
- Scheduling surgeries and post-operative appointments for patients.
- Communicating with patients, surgeons, and other staff to keep everyone informed.
- Coordinating the surgery schedule for one or more doctors.
- Recording patient information and completing surgical forms.
- Monitoring insurance payments and collecting insurance coding information.
- Giving patients pre-surgery instructions and setting them up for preadmission testing.
- Providing effective help to patients to ensure a positive experience.

Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures by collecting patient information, verifying insurance coverage, communicating with physicians and patients, and ensuring all necessary pre-operative steps are completed, all while maintaining a streamlined and efficient surgical schedule within established guidelines.
Surgical Scheduler's responsibilities include:
- Scheduling: Scheduling surgeries and post-operative appointments for patients
- Communication: Communicating with patients, surgeons, and other staff to keep everyone informed
- Coordination: Coordinating the surgery schedule for one or more doctors
- Documentation: Recording patient information and completing surgical forms
