We are looking for a Systems Consultant IT in the Office of Administrative Services, Division of InformationTechnology, Application Development & Analysis Branch.
Duties will include :
- Serves as project lead for large information technology requests. Designs and presents information technology plans.
- Analyzes project requests for integration and design of new application development and / or major system modifications. Prepares documentation, long range information technology plans and summaries of agency project requests.
- Designs, develops and supports complex web, mobile and windows applications. Provides extensive documentation of application requirements, code, scripts, schematics, etc.
- Develops front-end user interfaces using markup languages, styling frameworks, scripting languages and modern web frameworks. Develops and codes the backend using server-side programming, frameworks and jobject-relational mapping tools.
- Designs databases and develops stores procedures for database management systems.
- Provides technical assistance to systems analysts, programmers, business analysts and / or contract consultants in the development and integration of system applications.
- Analyzes application issues and makes recommendations for solutions and / or modifies system to solve issues.
- Plans, develops, coordinates or presents complex information technology training. Develops policy and procedures and conducts training for new systems and web maintenance.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION : Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS : Four years of professional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, systems support, or computer operating systems.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE : Related technical or vocational training will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. A master's degree in computer science will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION : Experience in computer programming, systems analysis, and / or computer operations will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Experience in business or public administration, statistics, research, or a related field will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.) : NONE
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office setting or in a virtual office environment.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
