The Caminos Home Study/Post Release Services (HS/PRS) Administrative Assistant supports and performs operational efficiencies of the HS/PRS Program to ensure program compliance with Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) requirements. The Administrative Assistant works to support the HS/PRS Lead Case Manager with timely and accurate submissions and distribution of HS/PRS reports. The Administrative Assistant serves as an administrator for the HS/PRS Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platform ensuring the fidelity, continuity and maintenance of the program’s electronic files and liaisons with the EMR supplier.
The Administrative Assistant position is an integral part of an interdisciplinary team and one in which professional and effective communication with team members working across the state of Kentucky is crucial.

Skills and Abilities Needed:
  • Strong computer skills in work-processing, spreadsheet, and database software are necessary such as Word, Excel, Access or others specified by KYUMH. Must be able to utilize the internet and email, such as Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
  • Must be able to read and interpret procedure manuals, governmental billing instructions and correspondence.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Required Education and Experience
    • An Associate’s degree and 2 years’ experience in clerical, business administration or operations, office management or another related field.
    OR
    • A high school degree and 5 years’ experience in in clerical, business administration or operations, office management or another related field.

    Job Specifications:
    1. Maintenance of a valid, state-issued driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, per agency and insurance requirements.
    2. Submit to an intensive background check, to include driving records, child abuse/neglect registries, state and county criminal reports and FBI report.
    3. Submit to drug screening (pre-employment and random drug screens).
    4. Completes trainings as required per agency and program standards.

    Ability to work schedule required to fulfill the duties of the position.  At times, individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to handle and prioritize multiple, competing task and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
