What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Director- Valley Metro position at Keolis Commuter Services?
Responsibilities:
• Oversee, and advise multiple Phoenix based locations on employee and labor relations issues.
• Act as a business partner to VP/GM to identify, design and implement effective policies and procedures to improve the business, the employe experience and manage risk.
• Create and communicate employee analytic dashboards for key KPIs designed to educate the business and foster constructive discussion for improvement and risk management
• Effectively advise field leadership on discipline, discharge, performance management and all employment related matters.
• Manage direct reports, Human Resources and Labor Relations, and build strong, positive cross-departmental relationships
• Effectively advise field leadership on Collective Bargaining Agreement(s) interpretation.
• Investigate informal and formal complaints of discrimination, wage claims, and labor relations matters while coordinating those responses with legal counsel as appropriate.
• Oversee and perform Human Resource start up activities for new business.
• Collaborate with Business Development in providing information used to price bids for prospective new business represented by organized labor.
• Act as a conduit between the field management team and corporate Human Resources and Support Services teams.
• Assist VP of HR in the development of training and development tools in the area of employee and labor relations.
• Monitor and make recommendation regarding local, state, and Federal compliance with respect to wage and hour and other statutory obligations effecting the work group.
• Facilitate training and development tools and the administration of those programs.
• Ensure employment practice compliance through the establishment of field processes and procedures and controls.
• Develop and report on meaningful metrics or KPI’s to measure employee environment (labor and employee relations issues).
• All other HR related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The individual in this position must have:
• A strong commitment to Company values and possess strong leadership qualities.
• A bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years labor relations experience in multi-site, union, operation.
• Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office
• Must demonstrate excellent language drafting skills
• Experience in employee investigations
• Demonstrated Employee Relations skills
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities
• Ability to create strong relationships with Union leaders while representing the company’s interests
Preferred Skills:
• Experience leading an HR team and supporting multiple facilities
• Broad generalist experience including labor and employment compliance
• Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred or similar certifications
• Prior experience in Transit industry a plus
