Minimum Knowledge and Experience :

Comprehensive understanding of operating rules, practices, and procedures for railroad operations and train dispatching.

Qualified train dispatcher or ability to achieve train dispatcher qualification.

At least 5 years of experience in railroad operations, including applying operating and safety rules and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

Experience in developing, maintaining, and delivering training programs is preferred.

Skills :

Strong presentation and communication skills for engaging with individuals at all organizational levels.

Proven leadership and organizational abilities to manage tasks and teams effectively.

Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across diverse roles and disciplines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Key Accountabilities :

Demonstrates understanding and adheres to the KCS principles of Employee Engagement, Operational Excellence, Safety & Security, and Economic Performance.

Lead compliance efforts, ensuring staff are qualified and confident in delivering safe operations.

Develop, implement, and maintain FRA-compliant training programs for operations.

Plan and deliver classroom, field, and on-the-job training in a 24 / 7 environment.

Conduct operational tests and inspections to ensure compliance, providing coaching as needed.

Support the implementation of the train dispatcher certification program.

Manage training and certification records.

Collaborate with departments and stakeholders to ensure consistent training delivery.

Maintain effective relationships with MBTA counterparts, regulators, and other railroads to share best practices.

Participate in daily operations and provide on-call support for 24 / 7 activities.

Investigate incidents and assist with corrective actions.

Complete all assigned training programs.
