What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic Apprentice (Tech D) position at Keolis?
Knowledge and Experience :
18 years of age or older
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Must be able to obtain CDL passenger endorsement within 6-months of employment / apprenticeship
Willingness to work Flexible Schedule in a 24 / 7 union work environment
Skills :
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have basic comprehension and math skills, intermediate computer experience
Capable of understanding and following oral and written instructions
Must be able to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds
Key Accountabilities :
Develop entry level understanding of all systems onboard the fleet transportation vehicles
Perform Oil and Lube Services
Assist in performing Preventative Maintenance inspection and proper documentation.
Assist with routine repairs / maintenance of equipment
Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal and informal training sessions to stay updated with rapidly changing transit technology
Maintains an organized service department workspace
Maintain a customer-focused attitude to complement a high level of motivation and energy
Contribute to a positive work environment
Interaction with other Fleet personnel
Minimize waste
Exhibit knowledge and use of proper safety equipment at all times
Follow company attendance policy
Must successfully pass established competency test for step progression
